Integrity Inspection

Existing access under the jetty head was inaccessible. The underdeck steelwork had become submerged during high tides. AIM was tasked with evaluating the condition of the existing structural and supporting steelwork. The output of the inspection report was to identify remedial works. The required asset lifecycle would need to be achieved to safely extend the operating life of the export jetty.

Project:
Integrity Inspection

ExxonMobil Braefoot Bay Jetty

Opportunity
Existing access under the jetty head was inaccessible. The underdeck steelwork had become submerged during high tides. AIM was tasked with evaluating the condition of the existing structural and supporting steelwork. The output of the inspection report was to identify remedial works. The required asset lifecycle would need to be achieved to safely extend the operating life of the export jetty.

Improvements
AIM was engaged to complete the inspection using our specialist access and NDT skills. We mobilised the site for the 3-month project. We completed the integrity inspection to the client’s requirements.

Benefits
  • Previous inspections of the underside of the jetty were impractical. Photographs had to be taken from boats to facilitate a desktop review. Our specialist access service enabled a more thorough tactical inspection.
  • The survey time was reduced by 6 weeks, saving the costs associated to the vessel support.
  • Both the survey and the inspection were completed safely, in compliance with all regulations and safety standards.
